No unearned laurels for the new Hungarian government

The right-wing conservative, anti-government newspaper Magyar Hírlap delivers scathing criticism of the Hungarian government and the party behind it. "Not all of the 204 members of parliament (socialists and liberals) who elected Gordon Bajnai as new prime minister are hyenas, but there are many cowardly jackals among them. … There's no sign of any true predators or genuinely peace-loving herbivores, but there are cadavers and future victims in abundance. There we have the corpse of the fleeing [ex-prime minister] Ferenc Gyurcsány. It stinks - and so do all his accomplices. … But the socialists and the liberals are also dragging themselves through the desert of lacking talent and honour, dried out and disoriented. … There's a bounty on their heads. They can't expect anyone to give them even a glass of water any more. But they continue to drag themselves about, on and on. … They are wandering around in no-man's-land - pelted wherever they go with pitilessness and contempt. The eagles are circling above their heads, and the hyenas and jackals are hard on their heels."
