Opel takeover by Fiat unlikely

The left-liberal daily La Repubblica predicts that Germany will speak out against a takeover of Opel by Fiat. In an interview he gave on the weekend the German Minister for Economic Affairs, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, assessed several takeover offers and mentioned that of Fiat last: "For the Germans even the euro was a huge psychological sacrifice: the payment Kohl made to Europe to compensate for the horrors of National Socialism.
