The EU has announced a new package of sanctions against a further 1,600 individuals and companies with links to Russia's military-industrial complex. The announcement comes in response to a proposal by the German government, which on Tuesday said that Russian operatives were responsible for the attempted drone attack at Leipzig Airport. Commentators examine whether the response is sufficient, and how Europe can close ranks more effectively.
