From 1952 to 1990 the public broadcaster TVP was Poland's only television broadcaster. Nowadays it faces tough competition, but TVP nonetheless remains the market leader in the country's television segment. Since the national conservative Law and Justice Party (PiS) came to power in 2015 their news broadcasts have mainly become an instrument of propaganda for the party. The channel's news website tvp.info focuses mainly on domestic politics.
