Founded in 1944 by Emilien Amaury and other resistance fighters as Le Parisien libéré, this initially conservative paper was renamed Le Parisien in 1986. Le Parisien has been owned by the luxury goods group LVMH since 2015. It has come under frequent criticisism for publishing content influenced by LVMH boss Bernard Arnault.
