Economists have been keeping a close eye on the meeting of international central bankers at Jackson Hole in the US state of Wyoming. It was the last of the annual gatherings chaired by US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, whose term ends in 2026 and who has been under pressure from US President Trump for months to cut interest rates.
