Daily newspaper

The Nordschleswiger is the daily paper for Denmark's German minority. It was founded in 1946 as a weekly paper and became a daily published six days a week in 1952. It purchases its non-local news sections from the Schleswig-Holsteinischen Zeitungsverlag press group, but is nonetheless an independent paper. The publisher is the Bund Deutscher Nordschleswiger. It is the only daily in Denmark whose homepage is available for free. The paper is mainly financed by Germany in combination with Danish subsidies.
