Die Presse is Austria's most widely read quality newspaper. This long-standing paper was founded during the Austrian Empire's 1848 revolutions. Its editorial policy is conservative and liberal. In 2009 a special Sunday edition was launched called Presse am Sonntag. Die Presse is part of the Styria Media Group, which has close ties to the Catholic Church.
