Correio da Manhã (Morning Courrier) is a tabloid-style daily that was founded in 1979. According to the Portuguese Media Institute APCT (2018) Correio is still Portugal's best-selling paid content newspaper (selling an average of 130,000 - 140,000 copies a day). Its reporting does not have any particular political orientation. It has belonged to the Cofina media group since 2000 and with more than 20 million visits per month its website cmjornal.xl.pt is unquestionably Portugal's most frequented daily newspaper website.
