Die Welt is a national daily founded in the British occupied zone in Hamburg after WWII. Today it has two regional sections for Berlin and Hamburg. The paper also publishes a 32-page Welt Kompact tabloid-format version of the broadsheet. In 2015 Die Welt merged with TV channel N24 to form the multimedia news company WeltN24.
