The US online newspaper The Huffington Post was founded by Arianna Huffington, Kenneth Lerer and Jonah Peretti. It was launched as an online news and commentary platform on May 9, 2005. An Italian edition went online in 2012. Its editor-in-chief is Lucia Annunziata, a journalist and TV presenter who gives the Italian edition a centre-left stance also maintained by the paper's co-publisher, L'Espresso group.
