Globus is the first and currently one of the few serious political weeklies in Croatia. With its critical stance towards the government during the 1990s Yugoslav Wars and its exposure of numerous scandals it has always been able to hold its own against rival publications. However in the past it also published defamatory articles, half-truths and sensational stories which tarnished the liberal magazine's reputation. Globus belongs to Croatia's largest media group, Hanza Media.
