The monthly newspaper Le Monde Diplomatique, subtitled “the organ of diplomatic circles and large international organisations”, was founded in 1954 as a supplement to the daily paper Le Monde. Its news coverage focusses on international politics and globalisation. Le Monde Diplomatique is translated into 30 languages, sold in more than 40 countries and is partly financed by donations.
