NRC Handelsblad

NRC is a leading quality newspaper. This liberal daily was founded in 1970 as the product of a merger between Algemeen Handelsblad and the Nieuw Rotterdams Courant. Until 2021 it was published under the name NRC Handelsblad. It appeared in a traditional evening edition until 2022. From 2006 to 2921 NRC was also published in a morning edition under the name nrc.next, which was primarily aimed at a younger readership. Since 2022, the paper has only been published as a morning paper, under the name NRC. It was taken over by Belgian newspaper publisher Mediahuis in 2015. It was previously owned by investment company Egeria.
