The daily newspaper Sabah has a high circulation and is seen as an important mouthpiece of the Turkish AKP government. Like TV broadcaster ATV it belongs to Turkuvaz Media Group. In 2007 it was acquired by the pro-government conglomerate Çalık Holding and then sold in 2013 to the Kaylon Group, another pro-government group that is mainly active in the building sector.
