Apostrophe is a news website that was founded in 2014. The editorial team originally consisted of journalists from Kommersant Ukraine, which was shut down by its Russian publishing company after a dispute over the annexation of Crimea. In its mission statement, the editorial team declares its commitment to the values of humanism, peace, democracy, social progress and human rights.
