Comment guidelines for the euro|topics press review (for Twitter & Facebook)



euro|topics shows which topics are moving Europe and reflects the diversity of opinions, ideas and moods. Your views on the debates and topics dealt with in euro|topics are very welcome.

We value a respectful exchange of views, so please pay attention to our netiquette guidelines.

Content
Please make sure that your comments always refer to the content and topics on our platform. Do not post or disclose biased and/or offensive comments or discriminate against or discredit individuals or groups based on their background, religious affiliation, nationality, physical condition, sexual identity, gender, income or age. Refrain from posting any insulting, defamatory, pornographic or inflammatory statements or statements that endanger youths, incite to violence or are otherwise forbidden or punishable by law under paragraph 4 of Germany's Media Protection of Young Persons Act (JMStV). Any comments of this kind will be deleted by the moderation team without notice and, if appropriate, reported to the law-enforcement authorities. Please refraing from posting commercial content, election or party advertising, calls for demonstrations and campaigns, and petitions. Statements or allegations should be supported by arguments and sources that are comprehensible to all users. We do not accept any comments that have been generated automatically (by bots) or are clearly part of a campaign or "shitstorm", and will delete such comments without notice.

Language and Tone
Please maintain a fair and objective tone in discussions, even when a dispute arises, and refrain from any personal attacks. Behave towards others as you would like them to behave towards you. Always write your posts in the language of the respective Facebook or Twitter channel.

Quotes and Copyright
Please make quotes from other sources clearly identifiable as such. If you use quotes from public figures or newspaper articles, books, etc., please name the author and/or the source. If you upload copyrighted content, please make sure that you are entitled to do so. If you are not sure, refrain from doing so. This also applies to photographs, videos and music.

Data Protection
The publishing in posts of private or personal data such as addresses or phone numbers is forbidden. The content of private emails or messages from third parties may not be published without their prior consent. In your own interest, please refrain from publishing any private information about yourself such as phone numbers or email addresses.
