Le Quotidien d'Oran was founded in 1994 by a group of business people as a regional newspaper. From 1997 the paper became a national daily newspaper and one of the most important Francophone media in Algeria. It is perceived as a serious newspaper, yet is also criticized for its false neutrality. In addition to its many commentaries and analyses, Le Quotidien d'Oran also offers a regional focus.
