Deutsche Welle (DW), based in Bonn and Berlin, is the international broadcaster of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its content is distributed trimedially (radio, television, online) in 30 languages. Since 2011, however, radio programs have been cut back in favour of television and the Internet. In 2012 there was a complete relaunch, which brought the abbreviation DW more into the foreground.
