In 2014, Watson was launched as an online information portal aimed at a younger audience. The platform was founded by Hansi Voigt, former editor-in-chief of 20 Minuten Online (TX Group). It is edited by FixxPunkt AG, originally founded by Hansi Voigt, whose majority shareholder is AZ Medien AG owned by Aargau publisher Peter Wanner. Hansi Voigt left watson.ch in 2016. The new managing director is Michael Wanner, the son of the publisher.
