Figyelő is a weekly pro-government magazine owned by historian Mária Schmidt. Schmidt, who is also the director of the "House of Terror" museum, bought it in December 2016. Before that Figyelö was a liberal business and news magazine that covered politics, the economy, business, society, technology and sometimes also cultural topics. It had a reputation as an independent print publication that kept the centre-left and centre-right members of Hungary's upper middle and upper class up to date.
