The Times is one of Britain's leading daily newspapers. It is generally conservative and Eurosceptic in approach but has changed sides politically a number of times. During the elections in 2001 and 2005 it backed Labour, since 2010 the Tories. Since 2010 it has had a paywall for online content. A sharp surge in digital subscriptions helped The Times return to profitability.
