The Russian licensed edition of US business magazine Forbes was founded in 2004 by the Axel Springer Verlag. Its editor-in-chief Paul Klebnikov was murdered after three months in the post. Due to a media law limiting foreign ownership in Russian media assets to 20 percent, the magazine and the website, which is updated on a daily basis, were transferred in 2015 from Springer to AC Media. Since then, Forbes has been more reserved on political issues.
